Becoming a Truck Driver Brett Aquila read online review & book description:

103 Pages. Driving schools will teach you how to steer a rig, but I can give you the other half of your education, through my own experience. This book is a no-holds-barred, call 'em as I see 'em account of what I went through from the moment I decided that truck driving was for me. I hope to shed some some light on what the transportation industry is REALLY like, with no hidden agendas, no bitterness, and no regrets. Keep on truckin', Good Luck, God Bless, and thanks for stopping by.

  • A good read, but would benefit from editing

A reasonably good read, and I learned a lot about different kinds of big rigs. This book would benefit from a good editor, though; for example, it's "per se," not "per say". And no need to keep repeating things; point taken the first time through. I was expecting a chapter on truck weigh stations, and how different states approach enforcement; perhaps that will be in the next edition. I enjoyed most the author's tales of his early days as an inexperienced newbie driver trying to deliver in NYC, and ending up on roads where trucks were not allowed; and then learning why.
