Living on Mt. Rainier, Gus and Zoe are faced with a tough decision; stay and face starvation, or leave and face the dead that wait lower in elevation. The group will encounter new dangers and struggle to find themselves and each other again. The dead are more ruthless than ever, and the living more desperate. Natural disasters, a new threat from the dead, and tragic losses will either break Zoe and Gus apart or drive them closer together.

WOW...this series was so good. We don't know how well we have it. You did a very good job of making the books easy to read, keep ones interest and make one think of what is and what is not. More please. I am so glad I ran across your stories. I'm 69 and retired and I am trying to read everything I can get my hands on but I have to say your stories are awesome.

An exciting adventure, but could have been an addition to a previous book. There was no resolution at the end or real feel for a continuation.

I stuck with this series until the end, or what feels like the end. Zoe the main character is stupid and makes even stupider choices. I don't feel like the story resolves itself. I want to know about the ash creatures and what they want with the main character. The main reason I stuck with this series is I wanted to know what the author had in store for the plot and how it was all going to tie together... But none of it does. It's just one huge jump to another. I feel like I should ask for my money back!
